GHC20,000 for 15-year-old Girl Bone Cancer Treatment

The Asaase Foundation – established to drive corporate social responsibility initiatives for Asaase Broadcasting Company – has donated GHC20,000, to help fund the treatment of 15-year-old Michaela Asirifi, who is suffering from mesenchymal chondrosarcoma, a form of bone cancer.

Her treatment process will include surgery, chemotherapy and supportive care. Medical professionals say the whole treatment will cost GHC80,000.
Asirifi’s guardian, Juliana Asante told Asaase News that, “at the moment we are waiting for funds to be able tp perform the surgery for her.”
“The total surgery cost is about GHC80,000 and this is going to really help us raise the money for the surgery,” she added.
